Amanda Melissa Taylor joined Intac FuturePlan in January 2022 and leads a team responsible for retirement plan administration and consulting. She provides consultant training and is a valuable technical resource for everyone at Intac FuturePlan. The QKA after her name signifies that she is a qualified 401(k) administrator, a certification that connotes her advanced knowledge of retirement plan management, testing, and compliance.
Amanda said she pursued the QKA certification due to her longstanding passion for the retirement plan field, which drives her desire to grow her knowledge base. For example, while pursuing her QKA, Amanda learned a lot about defined contribution plans that she had not encountered in her day-to-day work. This expanded knowledge is helping her ensure that our clients’ retirement plans are operating to meet business needs and expectations.
“The QKA credential was a stepping stone in my career path to help me achieve my goals,” she said. “The certification process taught me that you need to continue to grow and evolve with new regulations and guidance to find fresh solutions to meet clients’ needs. Plus, the continuing education required to maintain that designation enhances my technical skills.”
The administrators on Amanda’s team take our clients’ retirement plans from census review to tax return and valuation preparation, with her guidance throughout the process and assistance as needed. Amanda credits her diverse professional background in public accounting, taxation, and retirement plan auditing and compliance, as well as her deeper understanding of 401(k) plan administration, for enabling her to guide her team with confidence and insight.
“My expertise as an auditor on large plans gives our team the tools to handle difficult auditor communication and as a QKA, I can help them manage any challenges that arise in an efficient manner, with little disruption to the plan sponsor. I encourage my entire team to take the steps to obtain the QKA designation. It is a valuable asset in my professional toolbox.”
